The water level of the Teesta River has increased due to torrential rains. Although there has been no rain in the last 24 hours, the water level of the river has increased.

Due to the torrential downpour and two consecutive days of rain, the water level of the Teesta River has increased in Lalmonirhat's Hatibandha upazila and reaching the danger limit. As a result, the low-lying areas along the Teesta River have been flooded. Authorities have opened 44 sluices of Teesta barrage to reduce water pressure.
